Licking, County is just east of Columbus, Ohio. It has been home to one of the largest groups of Prehistoric earthworks in the world, as well as an Indian flint mining site and many natural wonders. In recent year its Longaberger Basket Company has hit gold and turned the old canal town of Dresden into a Disneyland for baskets. So many visitors have been coming to Dresden to take in the basket shops and sites that Longaberger is planning no less than three theme parks along the road to the county seat of Newark.

The Longaberger Basket Company has finished the first of three 7 story picnic baskets that function as their headquarters building. However, they have a real basket in Dresden that is the world's largest and will soon join their theme park with shops and restored old buildings. Every shop and downtown house has been given over to basket businesses, most of which Longaberger runs, but some are independent. Before the Ohio Bicentennial in 2003 they hope to have Longaberger Village (shops and big baskets), County Fair (amusement park), a golf course, and a theme campground with sculptural carvings. They are also restoring many old buildings in Newark. < a href="../develop.html"> future Central Ohio development =}
